Okay, folks here's the Math Lapbook we've been working on! You wont find a master template anywhere on the web. This book was designed and created in my head, however, you are free to use this entire idea if you like.
This lapbook was created from gluing two file folders together. You can find how to put the two together at this Link.
Here's the book standing on end and open.
A look at the first page.
Inside that pink envelope are little dots with numbers to multiply. Tink lays them beside the 3 and works the problem. It's like little game pieces. The paper for the envelope is just scrap book paper.
This is the fours in a petal fold book. You can find the link to that book here.
If you look at the open lapbook pic above you will see the keys hanging there. These are fastened on by Velcro and become their own little set of keys to practice on when you unattach them from the book. That link is found here too.
The acorn book is attached with Velcro also and comes off to stand on its own as a separate book. The acorn pattern can be found at Shape Books.
This is a pic of the cards that can be found in the cup pocket tied with the rope. That pic is two pictures up from this one. See the cards sticking out of the cup? The link to that fold is here.
Now this one is my all time favorite. This is an envelope I made out of scrapbooking paper. In it are the multiplication tables for eight.
I used regular Christmas gift tags for the flash cards inside! Needless to say, I was quite proud of my idea! I positively love this one!!
And here's the last page. I used an accordion fold to make this caterpillar.
Only his head is attached with Velcro because the book keeps falling open. The book itself is glued into the folder.
This is the 11's and again it's just a book with little windows. The 12's on the far side are made into a flip book that is once again attached with velcro. The templates for both can be found here.

Wow...you are an inspiration. Thank you so much for sharing your hard work with us all. I appreciate the fantastic idea. I'll bet I could do an addition/subtraction one just like it for my budding kindergartener.
Nice! I've linked. :)
I love this!! My 3rd grader could use this. I'm showing this to him and we're going to make one.
Thanks!
Very cool and very creative!
I love it- you can definitely call me a copy-cat. Thanks for the close-up pics and links too. You're awesome lady! Steph
You are so very creative, Mrs. Darling! Michael's not ready for multiplication yet, but I'm stroring this for future use...
BTW, I just put up a post on my blog, a question about canning... could you check it out when you have a free moment (LOL!) and let me know what you think? I'd greatly appreciate it!
Blessings!
That is really good :)
PS This is the link to the entry I asked about earlier:

I had insomnia tonight and got on a posting spree... you can ignore the top two... unless you have an answer for the top one, then feel free to advise there as well... so tired, can't fall asleep...
omg I love that.
I love that idea! I've never seen a lapbook done for math! I need to open my eyes more. Coffee here I come!
OH. MY. GOODNESS. You are the LAPBOOK QUEEN!!! This is gorgeous - I've never called math gorgeous, but this lapbook definitely puts math in that category. Wow, I'm still shaking my head - like the others noted, I'm totally stealing this idea. In fact, just so everyone else can steal it too, this is definitely worthy of a special place in my sidebar, under my Education/Homeschool stuff...
What a great lapbook!
I have been wanting to try one for a while...I may do an addition one for P.
This is great! I love it!
Lisa
Mrs Darling my hats off to you!!! Great idea--I may even have to try this to help in practicing for Kaitlyn!! Such a cool visual for kids! Good work!! Sharon
Wow! I tried to interest my children in lapbooking our unit on Norway. They're a bit snooty but when I showed them these pics they were impressed. So Math, here we come! Thank you ma'm!
Oh gracious. I can just see if I tried to do something like that. Paper everywhere and glue in the baby's hair! It looks like you guys had fun though.
You make learning fun...I enjoyed seeing your creativity...its genius! =)
I am so happy to have found your blog!! What a great lapbook!! I just love it and want to make one with my son! Thanks so much!
Awesome! That looks like a lot of fun!
Great info! Thanks so much for the links!! :)I love the folder folding idea!
WOW!!! Thanks for sharing!
I have to say you make me feel quite uncrafty when I see that. That this fabulous, beautiful lapbook came out of someone's brain is beyond my meager craftiness. It's wonderful! We just did our first lapbooks a few weeks ago. Actually, I did one, pretending to be secretive, and the kids saw me working on it and then couldn't wait to get started on their own!
thanks for a great idea!! I need to make one for my granddaughter -- but with additions facts instead of multiplication.
I clicked your link in your message on the L&L yahoo group. What a very creative and thoughtful way to make your own lapbook for multiplication. I may show this to my 8 year old. We tried doing a pre-made lapbook for addition facts, but she didn't enjoy it. Maybe it was because of the way it was made and the fact that she already knew her addition facts so we were doing it for review. She may decide to give this a go since she is just learning her multiplication facts.
Great job, and thanks for the creative spark!
Blessings,
Missy
I love this and how crafty you are..I need to do an addition/subtraction one, thanks for great pics and inspiration!

Anne for the icecream cone I just used a coloring book that had a pic of a two dip cone and I just duplicated the ice cream dips until I had enough.
This is so AWESOME. Thanks for sharing your links with us! My daughter is going to LOVE it!
May I post a link to your lapbook article with a picture of the finished product on ClassicallyCatholic.blogspot.com ? It is one of the best designs I have seen for math. Suzanne
Yes suzanne as long as the link comes back here and its only the finished product. All the hows and wherefores are to be kept on this blog but a pic of the finished product is okay.
Blessings! And glad you liked this. I had a lot of fun designing it~
You are so creative, and dedicated! Love this idea.
I wish I would have done something like this with my daughter when she was learning multiplication. I'm bookmarking this though, and saving it for my son. I love this idea.
