Name Five Books That Have Impacted You The Most

This is going around facebook asking for 15 books that you have read that have stuck with you or that are your favorite reads of all time. I thought it might be interesting to ask my readers what they're top five are. Here are my top five.

The Bible
Tortured For His Faith
The Red Tent
Angela's Ashes
When Broken Glass Floats

Today we have violin lessons and I have a hair appointment. We are also planning to run to a lake about an hour north of here and check out some camp sites. Tonight I work at Vacation Bible School again. So this little exercise will have to do for my post today.

Now tell us all your top five books. Maybe I can learn something and find a great book to read from your lists! Its getting harder and harder for me to find great books; books that are page turners and/or life changers. So bring it on folks.

Ugh~I HATED The Red Tent!!! TOTALLY freaked out by that ritual in the field with the idol~yuck, yuck, YUCK! (Can you tell I can't handle that kinda stuff?) My midwife had me read it. She also had me read The Midwife's Song: A Story of Moses' Birth which was FANTASTIC and an amazing faith builder!!!

I hafta second Stepping Heavenward (actually ANYTHING by Elizabeth Prentiss~she's my very favorite author!) and A Basket of Flowers. Teddy's Button was pretty great, too! I would so LOVE to collect the Lamplighter Series~OH so virtue-inspiring, even though meant for younger audiences!! (((((HUGS))))) sandi

Okay, thought of a fifth. It's sooo hard to choose! LOL! What is a Family by Edith Schaeffer was such a BLESSING to me and really, really helped me in sooo many areas of motherhood and creating a cozy home. I am sooo far from perfect, but just one example was seeing how she cared for her children when they were sick. I would never have even THOUGHT to do such things~isn't that AWFUL?!! It was life-changing for me, and it's probably time for a re-read... Can't help it~Soul Sculpture: What You Owe Your Child was eye-opening too. "Motherhood" by Eva I. Travers was my very favorite one~I can e-mail it to ya if yer interested! (((((HUGS))))) sandi

#2) "The Greatest Generation" by Tom Brokaw
#3) "The Word & Power Church" by Doug Banister
#4) "The Spiritual Man" by Watchman Nee
#5) "Undaunted Courage" by Stephen Ambrose

There are numerous books that I read for enjoyment but these ones are significant!
